Vire boasts a golf course which has recently extended to 18 holes and if you enjoy fishing, then spend a day at one of the well stocked nearby lakes The pretty village of St Quentin les Chardonnets is 1km from here and the small, medieval town of Tinchebray with shops, bars and banks is only 4km away. The nearby towns hold regular, bustling markets, where you can sample the specialities of the region and buy an abundance of local produce. La Foucauderie is the perfect base from which to explore the Cotentin peninsula. Destinations of interest include the D-Day beaches, Bayeux, the seaside towns of Granville, Barneville –Carteret and the world heritage site of Mont St Michel.
